Judy Harvey – Artist Bio
Judy Harvey C.D.A. (Certified Decorative Artist: Society of Decorative Painters) is
originally from York PA but has traveled and lived in numerous locations due to
her husband’s military career before moving to Ellijay. She has a degree in Art
Education from Penn State University, is certified by the Society of Decorative
Painters (SDP), is an accredited Priscilla Hauser teacher and a representative of
the DecoArt Helping Artist Program.
In addition to teaching classes, Judy specializes in custom painting of furniture,
murals, faux finishes and Tromp l’oeil as well as designs for liturgical artwork for
banners displayed in churches in several states. Her work has won various
awards, been published in “Tole World” magazine, and her original ornaments
have been hung on the White House trees during the Clinton and Bush
administrations as well as Blair House and the Smithsonian Institute in
Washington DC.
